Random thoughts, comments, observations and general fluff from a random bint who left London at the end of September 2004 to embark on a new life and new adventures in Tokyo, land of the cute.... and is leaving mid-June 2010 - and counting!

Do I have to do ALL the talking around here?

It's your turn.

Tell me something interesting about you.

At least give me your name and tell me where you are and how you came to be reading this blog.

And especially if you found me by googling something odd. (Yes, I DO know).

I know how many people read this blog and I know most people don't comment. So say something.

Anything.

Go on.

It doesn't even have to be that interesting...

Ooooh, I know how it feels like when you don't get ANY comments - no matter what you write. On the other hand, I don't write to get comments, but it's ALWAYS nice to get one.

I am Liisa, a mother ship and still hovering over Japan.

Jo, I too can empathize with the feelings of frustration at the lack of comments, so hopefully the response will cheer you up. I came across your blog purely by chance, by clicking on Next Blog and since I enjoyed the purity of your style, its warmth, sponteneity and immediacy, I have kept reading ever since (though sometimes I have to travel on mission and so can't manage every day). I am in Waffleland (Belgium to the uninitiated) where I am an official at the European Parliament. I always enjoy your observations about what sets Japan apart, the telling details that speak more eloquently than the obvious. Keep up the good work, you do have a faithful readership and I do appreciate the taste test you carried out for me, as well as the dedication - a true honour!

You know damn well who I am, you met me. :P

As for comemnts, it always helps if you leave them on other blogs in order to get some on yours.

Nuff said.

I am an inept blogger. I tried to leave a comment here beofre, but must have posted it in a lost outpost of cyberspace instead. I am in Tokyo and found your blog whilst looking for blogs from Japan. I wanted to start my own blog, but have no imagination, so wondered what sort of stuff other people wrote.

I found you via The Report Card and find reading about your life in Japan very interesting and your style very accessible.
I enjoy your attention to details. Hope you keep writing.
PS why do you have two sets of comments?

Hey Jo, you know me. I often read your blog at night when my left hemisphere is too filled or empry ot work or talk. As the neighbours have banned me from playing piano after nine pm (which is always a nice right hemisphere task) I can only consume or produce empty speech. Sorry... but I love your blog!

Hi Jo. It's Carole from Taiwan. I'm still enjoying hearing all your stories, and the joys of asian life.

I found your blog by clicking those "next blog" buttons on the top of each Blogger Blog.

Hey jo! Just wanted to send love and support to you over there. I know I should post / email more, but at the very least I did manage to send a comment while driving down to the south coast on a May bank holiday!

More soon!

Love Ben J

Hey. I've enjoyed your cultural insights into the Japanese. It's a place I've always wanted to go.

Take it easy.
